These were the most in-demand jobs in commerce and manufacturing (47% and 45%) in 2003. The latter figure subsequently enlarged to 51%, the single highest level observed, while there was a 6-percent drop in commerce.
The gaps in unskilled worker recruitment, in comparison, fell within the 20-30-percent range. Manufacturing remained the main contributor (26% in 2003 and 28% in 2004), while demand in the services industry rose by a third to 29%.
The talent searches at technical and managerial ranks were even smaller in scale and shrank over time. More specifically, fewer than 15% of building employers found it challenging to do so, while single digits were reported for the remaining industries.
